A 12 year old ordering UN delegates to stop their ignorance

Severn Suzuki, an environmental activist, speaker, television host and author, spoke in front of the UN during an Earth Summit in 1992 while she was just 12 years old. This has got to be the most amazing, saddening, yet strangely empowering video of someone speaking about environmental issues. Here is what Wikipedia says about Ms. Suzuki:

“Born in 1979 to writer and former Harvard University instructor Dr. Tara Elizabeth Cullis and famed Canadian geneticist and environmental activist Dr. David Suzuki, Cullis-Suzuki received a B. Sc. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale University in 2002. She has spoken around the world about environmental issues, urging listeners to define their values, act with the future in mind, and take individual responsibility.

How does America take
care of its citizens?

Are people going Sicko over America’s heath care?

The United States is known for its world renowned medical care and how healthy our citizens are — right? To answer your question, NO! The actual statistics may surprise you. Michael Moore, the controversial film maker of “Bowling for Columbine” and “Fahrenheit 911″, seems to disagree with how the US deals with medical care, and what does Michael Moore do when he disagrees with something? Well, he makes a controversial documentary about it, duh! Now, before I get into the meat of this article, I want to share some cold hard facts with you out there. Here is some information that you may not know:

VIDEO — Ron Paul on the Daily Show!

ronpaul.jpg
Ron Paul speaking about running
for president with Jon Stewart.

Texas Republican Ron Paul was on the Daily Show on Monday discussing the unusual media attention that he has been receiving lately. He attributes it to his philosophy of liberty. Many think it is a democratic conspiracy, but I think people are just hungry for change. The back and forth was quite funny. I just wish the interview was a bit longer as Dr. Paul is an interesting guy that I know little about. Oh well, I am glad he is getting the attention he deserves.

Shareholders Get Serious With ExxonMobile

Tillerson is caught channeling Rumsfeld during shareholder’s meeting.

At the ExxonMobile meeting last week, Rex Tillerson, CEO, had some very confusing things to say about what the company’s position is on global warming, or global climate change as everyone is fond of now calling it. What is particularly appalling is Tillerson’s overt lack of concern for the environment in which he rambles on about things we know we know, things we know we don’t know and things we don’t know we don’t know. I would call this a “Rumsfeldian moment” since Donald Rumsfeld was famous for quoting nearly the exact same thing when asked about the Iraq war. It’s amazing what these two people have in common. If you would like to see the video of the two spouting off in response to difficult questions, we have included it at the end of this article for you to see for yourself.

Corporate Hall of Shame — Vote Today! w/Video

stickersmany.gifWe all have heard about the corporate abuses and scandals that have been occurring under our wonderful pro-business Republican leadership. They are enough to make a sane person nauseous, and an American taxpayer downright sick. As outlined by alternet.org, Filmmaker Robert Greenwald, director of Iraq for Sale: the War Profiteers, recently testified before Congress about corporate conduct in Iraq. What he detailed in excruciating detail included “price-gouging, out-and-out ripoffs, incomplete projects, giving dirty drinking water to U.S. troops in the field, charging the government for gas shipments that were never made, putting troops’ lives at risk guarding empty trucks on dangerous convoys in order to make a buck and a dozen other egregious offenses on the backs of U.S. taxpayers”. You are not going to believe what a prominent Republican Representative said in response to Greenwald’s presentation…
