How does America take
care of its citizens?

Are people going Sicko over America’s heath care?
The United States is known for its world renowned medical care and how healthy our citizens are — right? To answer your question, NO! The actual statistics may surprise you. Michael Moore, the controversial film maker of “Bowling for Columbine” and “Fahrenheit 911″, seems to disagree with how the US deals with medical care, and what does Michael Moore do when he disagrees with something? Well, he makes a controversial documentary about it, duh! Now, before I get into the meat of this article, I want to share some cold hard facts with you out there. Here is some information that you may not know:

VIDEO — Ron Paul on the Daily Show!

Ron Paul speaking about running
for president with Jon Stewart.
Texas Republican Ron Paul was on the Daily Show on Monday discussing the unusual media attention that he has been receiving lately. He attributes it to his philosophy of liberty. Many think it is a democratic conspiracy, but I think people are just hungry for change. The back and forth was quite funny. I just wish the interview was a bit longer as Dr. Paul is an interesting guy that I know little about. Oh well, I am glad he is getting the attention he deserves.

CNN’s GOP Presidential Debate in New Hampshire

Presidental hopeful Rudy Giuliani said
he supports the Iraq war and would
not have acted differently in 2003.

Oh, the third GOP debate… or was it just the second one recycled?
Let me explain something before I go on, I would rather vote for a moderate republican (think Ron Paul) than I would a democrat (think Hillary Clinton, although I am falling in love with Obama a little more each day), but with the way the republican party is looking, I am nowhere near voting a GOP candidate in the White House anytime soon. With that being said, I was severely disappointed in the third debate. I have to say that it was not what I expected which is a closer examination of each candidate and a deeper discussion on certain issues. But unfortunately, all I got out of it was just more of the same old GOP crap (sorry, but I have to call it the way it is) — we can’t leave Iraq or the earth will explode, the terrorists are assaulting our way of life. We just can’t seem to get around the same issues that we covered in the second and first debate. I don’t think the republicans can get passed anything, but abortion is killing our souls and terrorists want to remove my heart and eat it.

New Hampshire’s Democratic Debate on CNN

Sen. John Edwards blasted Clinton
and Obama for not taking the lead
on a recent war spending bill.
Finally, a debate where the democrats took off their water wings and started swinging for the fences.
This time around, the democrats significantly started to show their differences, and they wanted to make sure we noticed! These differences came out in the details of their personalized plans for health care, being open about policies and… the Olympics? When they were asked about health care, they each want some type of “universal care”, but some were less “socialized” than others. With Edwards and his 100% mandatory insurance coverage, and Kucinich with his single-payer system, we really started to see the differences in their visions for the 2008 presidency. Again most of them did stand on the same ground when it came to the general issues, but the nuances are where the similarity ends.

Geico’s Cavemen Coming to ABC This Fall

The infamous Geico Caveman.
Yes, that’s right. ABC is capitalizing on the popularity of the Geico cavemen ads and is spinning off on its own “Cavemen” sitcom series this fall.
So you’ll get to see your favorites, Nick Kroll and Dash Mihok, play the cavemen you have come to love. It’s a gamble, but ABC is betting that you want to know more about the antics of cavemen in the modern, fast-paced, bigoted world of today. Opps, did I say bigoted? Well, it’s not exactly a slip of the tongue. Guess what the creators of the show are going for?

UFC 71: The Iceman Is All Thawed Out!
I have to admit, I am a huge fan of the Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC. Why? Well, I have a long background in martial arts and fighting. Yeah, not very intellectual huh? To redeem myself, I will say that I love it for alternative reasons other than just liking the violence similar to the majority of watchers. What sparked me to write this is Chuck Liddell, the infamous title holder that is viewed as immortal, finally lost! Yes my friend, the long standing champion, that in my opinion was overrated, lost to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (summary of fight below).

Corporate Hall of Shame — Vote Today! w/Video
We all have heard about the corporate abuses and scandals that have been occurring under our wonderful pro-business Republican leadership. They are enough to make a sane person nauseous, and an American taxpayer downright sick. As outlined by alternet.org, Filmmaker Robert Greenwald, director of Iraq for Sale: the War Profiteers, recently testified before Congress about corporate conduct in Iraq. What he detailed in excruciating detail included “price-gouging, out-and-out ripoffs, incomplete projects, giving dirty drinking water to U.S. troops in the field, charging the government for gas shipments that were never made, putting troops’ lives at risk guarding empty trucks on dangerous convoys in order to make a buck and a dozen other egregious offenses on the backs of U.S. taxpayers”. You are not going to believe what a prominent Republican Representative said in response to Greenwald’s presentation…

Top Ten Homer Simpson Quotes
With a “Simpsons” movie premiering this summer, its 400th episode airing this week, and more episodes scheduled for another season, Homer Simpson has truly become a celebrity. He is uniquely one of those bumbling idiots who has endeared us with his endless antics. He has deceived his friends, blown up his hometown, divided his neighborhood, and driven his wife, kids, pets, pastor, bar buddies, co-workers, and his bosses to distraction. Homer is the kind of person who seems to get into and out of everything. Matter of fact, his philosophy is…”Weaseling out of things is important to learn…it’s what separates us from the animals, except the weasal.”

FOX Poll on Debate: Ron Paul Gets Second!
Well folks there’s hope. I can’t believe this tiny bit of news that I came across this morning. No one is reporting this in the mainstream media, but it appears that Ron Paul may have more credibility than we thought. When Paul challenged the mainstream spin on 9/11 that the terrorists attacked us because they don’t like our freedom, I almost stood up and cheered. What Paul so clearly and concisely pointed out was that Osama Bin Lauden attacked us because of the establishment of American military bases in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War, which according to Islam is the most sacred of Muslim countries.
