VIDEO: Rapper/Activist NAS takes on FOX News

NAS vs. FOX
I have always been a fan of Rap, not the new, fake, materialist, shallow rap, I am talking about the deep, progressive, socio-political movement called Rap. Remember Grandmaster Flash with White Lines; NWA with their songs about political injustices within the black communities; Public Enemy and nearly all of their work? It was about getting all of America to listen to what was really happening to the blacks in America. Shining a light on the shadows of African-American life, and conjuring up a conscious awareness to what was happening beneath the veneer of white media.

“Nation Buys Porn With Stimulus Package”

Snipped from HuffingtonPost.com.
Yea, I’d say something got stimulated, just not in the way Bush wanted. I don’t think anyone is really surprised about this. I sure as hell am not. I predicted, like many others, that it would go to bills, credit card debt or some kind of debauchery. Who in the hell is going to think to themselves, “Hey, I got $300 or $600; I am just going to blow it on some stupid, materialist trinket or dohicky when gas prices are going sky high, and I am living off of credit card loans. That’s a great idea!”

Move or Copy? Yes. What?
Okay, so I am a stickler for correct English. Yes, some people still care about how we all speak and write. And for someone like myself, I am in a constant state of frustration because bad English seems inescapable. And at times, it seems that it comes from everywhere, waiters, tellers, friends, professors, doctors, but one would think that at least the English of your computer should be virtually (pun intended) perfect. Right? Well, no. Let’s take a look into Windows, the bestest operating system ever!
When I jumped on my Mother’s computer to help her solve a technical dilemma, I was grammatically attacked by a pop-up window. And yes, it did hurt, but I am okay. I was asked to choose between two options, yet given a selection of yes or no. Let me show you.

What’s Up With Me, [Cerebrl]? Well …

External Sphincter of Man,
That’s What!
I guess there may be the slightest interest in what I, [Cerebrl], am up to. You know, the guy that runs this little blog. Well, I have been busy with school. Yes, school. Well, that and being politically active, developing a website (paid project that is, yea!), working for an after (urban) school program and trying to get back into working out. At the moment, I am taking microbiology, and human physiology in a short summer semester. If you are interested, here is what I had to write about this week for physiology:

Delegates, Anyone, Please Help With Donations!

$170 Phone Bill!
Fellow Delegates, Obamians, Democrates and Patriots, I need your help. I was Williamson County, Precinct 480’s Delegate Chair, and with that responsibility came organizing, informing, delegating and communicating to all of my precinct’s delegates, which was a large task prior to and during the county convention. During this convention, all my precinct delegates needed to keep in constant contact with me as to not miss a beat and make sure that everything was done correctly. Well, here in lies my big problem.
In staying available and keeping in contact with everyone, I managed to rack up a massive cell phone bill from the preparation and management of the county convention totaling out to $168.57 (Screenshots of bill below)! I, being the struggling, full-time student I am, can barely afford the $30 monthly bill that I was expecting to pay for my normal cell phone service, so you can imagine the tears in my eyes when I opened it up to a bill of nearly $170.

IMPORTANT: Obama Delegate Information

Let’s unite, Friday.
Okay, I have just finished the delegate training seminar, and boy, was I awoken to what we REALLY need to do. We, the Obama delegates, are much more entangled with the Clinton delegates than I thought. This is not an Obama group caucusing, and Clinton group caucusing in separate areas arising with separate results for the state convention. This is a precinct caucus with Obama and Clinton groups going head to head trying to out vote the other for positioning delegates for the next convention. If we are not careful, we could end up stalemating our end and letting the Clinton group slide their choice right in, leaving Obama’s chances behind.

Obama: It’s Time to Talk!
Barack Obama made a speech a couple of days ago that rocked the minds of those that truly understand our present societal problems. Those that have the perceptual abilities to see past the bullshit and petty distractions are gearing up for a new wave of public discussion. I strongly feel that Senator Obama is the leader, the inspiration this country has needed for decades.

“Desert Mystery Has Electrifying Answer”

Snipped from LiveScientist.com.
Now this is pretty darn cool. I never really knew there was anything special about how sand moved about in a desert. The below article describes how sand is not only moved around by wind, but by electrical static as well. It is said that as the sand moves about the Earth because of wind, it strikes the surface of the Earth and picks up electrons, and along with it, a negative charge. The sand on the ground is then left with a positive charged.

” ‘Plantstones’ Could Help Lock Away Carbon”

Snipped from NewScientist.com.
Here is something that I find very interesting. The very same thing that locked away all the carbon from our atmosphere millions of years ago is now being researched to lock it away again. Certain types of grasses (wheat and sorghum) have been found to store away extra minerals and scrape plant materials in little balls called phytoliths, also known as ‘plantstones’. These stones have been found to contain extra carbon that the plant did not use during its photosynthesis.

Are You Being Prescribed Placebos?

Snipped from PhysOrg.com.
Short answer: maybe. It seems that physicians are not taking placebos as lightly as we once thought. The placebo effect, “a therapeutical effect based solely on the power of suggestion” that has showed up in all clinical trials and is commonly used scientifically in pharmaceutical research, is said to be used by 45% of Chicago internists when prescribing to patients.
