I was shocked by an article I read today regarding what health insurance companies are doing to increase profits at the expense of unknowing policy holders. Executives of the three largest health insurers faced a congressional hearing regarding the practice of “rescission” which basically is a tactic that insurers use to cancel policies on members who get sick.

Now these aren’t policy holders who were involved in any kind of fraud towards the insurers. They were just unfortunate patients who happened to get sick — really sick.
