Okay, this has been one of the most fun, legal ways to get free apps! MacHeist creates these extremely challenging puzzles, games and investigative adventures, and if you solve them, they reward you with awesome free software. This has been MacHeist’s third installment to a radically inventive and unique way of marketing Mac software. And I have to admit, I had a great time participating. Now unfortunately the challenges to win the free stuff are over, but at the end of the whole thing, they offer an incredible bundle of apps for an insane discount.

At them moment, they have $600 worth of apps for $39, and if enough people buy this bundle, they will continue to unlock more apps that will increase the value of the bundle without increasing the cost. If all apps are unlocked, the bundle will be worth over $900! I have bought mine, but you NEED to get yours. FYI, if you buy the bundle now, and the apps get unlocked later, they add them to your bundle as well.

Here is a list of the apps in the bundle: iSale $39.95, Picturesque $34.95, SousChef $30.00, World of Goo $20.00, PhoneView $19.95, LittleSnapper $39.00, Acorn $49.95, Kinemac $299.00, WireTap Studio $69.00. Current bundle value, $601.80. So far, I have already used Little Snapper, a great screen shot application, Picturesque which I used to make the image below, PhoneView for downloading information from my iPhone and WireTap Studio for recording internet radio and editing for custom playlists. That, in-and-of itself, paid for the bundle. I am dying to play with Kinemac, a neat 3D animation creation software worth $300 on its own, as it will be good for website design.
