I think I may have discovered the secret behind the NOW President Barack Obama’s success! I believe it could due to his love of apples, and when I say apples, I mean Apples. It seems as though Obama’s political team utilized the Apple Macintosh as their computing platform, and they loved it! Unfortunately, now that they are moving into the White House, they are faced with one of the biggest fears known to man — outdated Windows PC’s.

Ah, the horror! [Shudder]

Seriously speaking now, it seems as though Obama has an eye for progressive innovation, usability and logical design. He chooses his political platform like he chooses his computing platform. That is why it was so effective. He understands that men are weak, vulnerable and flawed, but ideas are everlasting, empowering and transcending. “Hope”, “Yes we can”, and “I, unlike the others, have a brain”, were all powerful ideas.

This very belief, I believe, is why Apple is so successful. They develop technology that is iconic and idealistic. An iPhone is not just a cell phone, it’s means being interconnected to and entertained by the world around you.

This week, the White House became a switcher. As the new presidential team took over 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, they were met with outdated equipment still apparently running the sturdy old Windows XP and Windows 2000, as well as a host of bureaucratic rules meant to ensure that all official work at the White House can be properly recorded according to the Presidential Records Act.

The Obama team has long been known for using Apple equipment. President Obama himself uses a Mac laptop, as does his media team, which according to the Washington Post is now facing the daunting prospect of updating the West Wing to modern equipment and doing so while complying with government regulations.
