Blackwater Revisited
What’s with Blackwater these days? Do you recall how Blackwater was involved in a shoot-out last September on the 17th at a Baghdad intersection that left 17 Iraqis dead? Do you recall how Iraq’s outrage and how American public outrage called for Blackwater’s dismissal from Iraq?
Background: I selected some items for a brief recap on Blackwater in Iraq from my original article, “Tell Me Blackwater Ain’t So, Ma,” posted October 25th, 2007 on b4b and from my other related comments.

Goodbye Plastic Bags!

Convenience VS. Ecology
Stop Plastic!
Plastic bags were just outlawed (first in California, where else?) from the supermarkets. Then from drugstores. Plastic bags have come to be no more, no longer used, no longer manufactured for California. Now, it’s soon for your state. Why?
Why it’s for the good of the environment, Honey! Plastic doesn’t decompose in landfills. It lasts and outlasts. California (always first) has put a “stop” law on these bags to keep them out of landfills, out of the ocean. Have you ever seen the news reports of this gigantic doughnut of plastic stuff in the ocean that’s continuously and permanently circling upon itself, goosed by ocean currents?

You Can Go Home
Broke, busted? The kids are starving. And is your spouse cruising, on the hunt for a sugar daddy or else for a queen bee with lots of stored honey? Face the facts when you’re not worth a dime. You’re broke, busted! Down and out! You know it; your partner or spouse knows it, the kids know it, and the neighbors know it.
What can you do? Hara-kiri? Hell no! Then, what will you do? Well, you can go home again. It has been said that “home” is where they have to take you in when you go there.

Delegates, Anyone, Please Help With Donations!

$170 Phone Bill!
Fellow Delegates, Obamians, Democrates and Patriots, I need your help. I was Williamson County, Precinct 480’s Delegate Chair, and with that responsibility came organizing, informing, delegating and communicating to all of my precinct’s delegates, which was a large task prior to and during the county convention. During this convention, all my precinct delegates needed to keep in constant contact with me as to not miss a beat and make sure that everything was done correctly. Well, here in lies my big problem.
In staying available and keeping in contact with everyone, I managed to rack up a massive cell phone bill from the preparation and management of the county convention totaling out to $168.57 (Screenshots of bill below)! I, being the struggling, full-time student I am, can barely afford the $30 monthly bill that I was expecting to pay for my normal cell phone service, so you can imagine the tears in my eyes when I opened it up to a bill of nearly $170.

Bush’s Ethanol Blunder
The Ethanol Blunder has happened. President Bush in his 2007 State of the Union Address set our course for an all ethanol fuel nation. The “decider” proclaimed our nation to go, team, go ethanol all the way.

Killing the Economy
Killing Jobs, Killing the Economy — that’s what your old company is doing. Mergers, takeovers, buy-outs, cutting costs to be competitive. Where the savings, where the money made by our bosses is found in racking up the lowest score in the number of salaries that no longer need to be paid. Ignore their PR of good intentions for their customers; look below the surface and it’s job cuts that are the real reasons behind it all. Service and better products? No, now the number one best way to “make” money is to let go of most of your workers.
