Obama: It’s Time to Talk!

Senator Barack Obama
Barack Obama may have made our generation’s “I have a dream” speech.

Barack Obama made a speech a couple of days ago that rocked the minds of those that truly understand our present societal problems. Those that have the perceptual abilities to see past the bullshit and petty distractions are gearing up for a new wave of public discussion. I strongly feel that Senator Obama is the leader, the inspiration this country has needed for decades.

Now, I know I have been absent on this blog for quite some time now, but I have been busy. I am going to school full time (studying medicine), working part time as well as trying to change Texas’ political landscape for the better. If you are asking yourself, “What are you doing politically?” Well, I am the delegate chair for my precinct, and I am doing my damnedest to get my areas as charged up about Mr. Obama as I can. I am talking to people, wearing my Obama Wear, calling and emailing other delegates and working with some of Obama’s local campaign representatives.

Anyways, I am back to make a point! This speech he made cannot go unnoticed, cannot go unheard and cannot go undiscussed. This is our time to stand up for what has been needing to rise out of the shadows and into the light to air-out with the rest of America’s dirty laundry. Race and racism, religion and petty politics has been ignored, hidden and internalized for far too long. It is time we talk. And talk is what Mr. Obama did.

Listen to this inspiring speech and tell me what you think. Enjoy!

I was impressed with his speech also. I watched a video of the entire oratory.

See my take on it at http://onemansop.blogspot.com/

I only got to see the first 15 minutes but this was an incredible speech that reminded me what a world leader is supposed to sound like. At one point I was very upset about the reactions of a few people I know. They tried to say that he threw his grandmother under the bus for political gain and shit like that. Eventually I got over it, theres always going to be those who drink the haterade. This country has no attention span, they’ve already moved on. I expect the dems to get nastier and nastier until the convention by which point McCain will have a decent lead. Then when the spot light turns to the old man running against a woman or hopefully a black man the country will remember that the war is a disaster and attacking Iran will only make it worse, much much worse. Once McCain is head to head with either Obama or Clinton I think he’s going to fall hard but until then I expect him to slowly ratchet his way up the polls every time dirt gets tossed on either Dem.

But back to the point. This speech was incredible because it gave an honest assessment of one of the nations touchiest subjects. His reminder that a childhood like his is only possible in this country needs to be remembered.

    Go Obama!
