“Stop White House Power Grab”

notible article

Snipped from the Union of Concerned Scientists.

What if I told you that the White House is looking for more power over many of our federal agencies? Power that is not supposed to be in the hands of the Administration. Would you be surprised? Would you do something about it? What if it had something to do with our health, our science, our truth? Well, here it is. The White House is looking for another power grab, and it involves agencies that deal with public health and environmental regulation. How do you feel about your health being in the hands of Dubya? Well, then do something about it … Now!

Here is a small portion of the article:

Government agencies need to use the best available science to protect our health—setting standards that limit toxins in our drinking water and pollutants in the air we breathe. But a recent presidential directive would give the White House excessive control over the work of federal agencies, making science more vulnerable to political interference. Unless something is done, this directive will embed political appointees inside federal scientific agencies where they could more easily prevent inconvenient science from ever seeing the light of day.

Soon, your senator will have the chance to stop this White House power grab by cutting the funds for this directive. Just a few phone calls on this critical issue will make a huge difference.

Isn’t this what religion tried //no, did do// a long, long time ago to science and scientists? Now it’s the Bush administration!

Are you sure there is a seperation between Bush and religion? I feel they are one and the same; both are illogical, subjective, irrational, idiotic and start/instigate wars.
