De Jesus Miranda — The End of Religion?
If you haven’t been following the news, you may have missed an earth changing press release that warns of the arrival of the Antichrist for whom Christians believe could be an indication of the “end times.” According to Wikipedia, the Antichrist has to do with those who believe that “he, inspired by Satan, will attempt to win supporters with great works, and will silence anyone or makes enemies of any country that refuses their allegiance”. Well, all I have to say about this is it’s about time. What we need in this world today is a total collapse of religion, so that we can just simply scrap it all and start all over again. So, who is this Antichrist and what is he up to?

Who is Mitt Romney?
With the increasing popularity of Mitt Romney, I think it’s time we take a closer look at what makes this candidate the man who is Mitt. It is well known that he is a devout believer of Mormonism, and that alone may not be much to “gasp at”, but what do we really know about this religion. Some may say that religion should have nothing to do with politics, and I completely agree. Yet unfortunately, these present politicians have not been able to keep their faith at home when they come to work. This secular government is becoming more and more “faith based”, but who’s faith is being represented and why is it destructive?

The Latest Internet Snooping: Lifecasting
I don’t know if you have heard of Justin Kan yet, but he is becoming the new rage in reality programming on the internet. It’s called Lifecasting. It’s reality programming with a twist. This time it’s from the perspective of Kan who wears a videocam strapped to his head all day recording his every waking moment. And, at night a stationary video camera records his every sleeping moment. This provides a live Web feed to his fans every day. You can live Kan’s life by going to justin.tv right now. You can not only watch him 24/7 but you can chat with him and other fans through online iming at the same time, giving him feedback and advice as he goes through his day. So this isn’t just evesdropping, it’s living vicariously through someone else real time. Why is this odd form of voyeurism catching on?

Is the Speed of Light Really Constant?
Here is a little thought experiment for you. If the speed of light is a constant 186,000 miles per second, can you theoretically catch up to a light beam? Well, if you are a fan of Einstein, then you would know you can’t through the theory of special relativity. Why? Hmmm, the short of the really long is… you can’t because at the speed of light, an object’s mass is infinite. When something has an infinite amount of mass, it takes an infinite amount of energy to accelerate it. Since there is no such thing as an infinite amount of energy, the speed of light is impossible, for at least anything that is a bradyon, a particle with mass. Luxons are the name for the particles that make up light or photons. They are massless particles, and therefore, can travel at the speed of light… or itself or… Well, you get the idea, right? Okay, so here is my next question. Since scientists say that the speed of light is constant, can you at least make it seem slower relative to your own speed?

Jon Stewart: Which Form of Government Suits You?
Have you ever wondered why we seem to be attracted to a certain kind of government? There are those of us who prefer a government with a free spirit promising less control and more liberties. Then there are those who prefer a government that has more control, and that infuses within it, values and beliefs that some people feel make us who we are so the two have to be intertwined. Then there are those who believe that social norms should control the government and all should be equal with access to governmentally sponsored state programs. Where do you fall in this list? Well, Jon Stewart has done it again. He has compiled a list of traits that tell you what type of government suits you the best. Take the test, you may surprise yourself…

America’s Wars: Are You Getting Your Money’s Worth?
When it comes to paying taxes, I get especially infuriated when I think about where the money is going and right now that means right down the toilet for the Iraq war. I have written articles on this blog decrying the unconscionable waste and abuse in our military spending that defies economic prudence and continues to weaken this country with insurmountable debt. It is becoming more and more obvious today. But, even James Madison in the early 1800s, eloquently wrote of the same inherent and all too inevitable effects of war.

FOX Poll on Debate: Ron Paul Gets Second!
Well folks there’s hope. I can’t believe this tiny bit of news that I came across this morning. No one is reporting this in the mainstream media, but it appears that Ron Paul may have more credibility than we thought. When Paul challenged the mainstream spin on 9/11 that the terrorists attacked us because they don’t like our freedom, I almost stood up and cheered. What Paul so clearly and concisely pointed out was that Osama Bin Lauden attacked us because of the establishment of American military bases in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War, which according to Islam is the most sacred of Muslim countries.
