The Neocon Test

reagan.jpgI caught a list of True/False questions on the Huffington Post that Marty Kaplan put together to see if you are smarter than a Neocon. I got to thinking about this and figured that first you probably want to know if you are one. So, I put together a test to see if you qualify as a Neocon. If you answer 12 out of the 15 questions “yes”, then I’m sorry to break the news to you but you are a Neocon.

1. When debating, do you find yourself interrupting anyone that opposes your ideology because you are absolutely certain that you are right, and anything the other is saying is inconsequential?

Holy War: A “Non-Believer’s” Point of View — Part One

religion1.jpgThis will be the first part to a series of articles pertaining to the global Holy War that has kept our world population separate and unstable. If you have not read the introduction to this series, then I would recommend it, as it explains the intention behind these writings.

The Obsession to Convert

Here is one of the most important points I could make in this series. Even though what I believe makes me happy, I know it may not make another happy.

Scandal: Another Conglomerate In Bed With White House

waxman.jpgIt appears that Bush just can’t stay out of trouble. Now he has Henry Waxman, the chair of the House Government Oversight Committee sending our beloved Attorney General another letter asking for all records concerning Bushie’s handling of a recent federal case against the tobacco industry. This action was a result of a front-page story in the Washington Post which claimed that top political appointees in the Justice Department had pressured the lead prosecutor in her case — lying to smokers concerning the risks — against the tobacco industry to lessen the penalties against the top tobacco executives. Is there no end to the Bushie’s misadventures?

Do We Get Smarter As We Age? Conclusion

thinkingoldman.JPG

Ever asked, “Why is Common Sense Such a Rarity?”

How certain are you that we get smarter as we age? Wiser? More intelligent? Well, this common adage is now being tested with scientific tests that gauge one’s cognitive performance with causal relations. One such test was in the previous article called Do We Get Smarter As We Age?” The results are quite shocking. The test was pulled from an article in Scientific American Mind, Feb/March 2007 called Jumping to Conclusions. Here is what they found…

Write Your Congressman “The Daily Show” Way

jonstewart.jpgSince I am always writing Congressmen or other governmental officials, I am on the outlook for ways in which to be more efficient and effective in my writing to these very important people. So, when I came across a template that Jon Stewart recommends in writing your Congressman, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pass this valuable information on to our readers. I have to admit it’s concise and can be used for all occasions. Check it out…

Updated: Why Republicans Will Ruin Our Democracy

bushes.jpgUpdated: So, after I finally gave up on the neo-con, we will call him Twit, over at Newsvine after he basically did not admit to anything and wanted me to go away and not bother him with reality. I started to surf around and found another article that Twit seeded/linked to containing, guess who, Ann Coutler. Now she is hating on Global Warming environmentalists. This chick was basically just making stuff up again to support her conservative ideology.

Overpopulation: It’s Not Only About Fossil Fuels

cows.jpgI was not too sure what to do with this article. Whether I should post it or just forget about it, but if I am going to help change the world, I cannot be selective in what I expose. As we all know I am against the exorbitant numbers of legal and illegal immigrants coming into this country (1,000,000 legal and 1,000,000 illegal a year). Not because I don’t like ethnic people, but because for every one person we let into this country, that is more natural resources that need to be imported or extracted to support them. Here is one I did not think of, and one that is really important.

Evolution and Aging: What You Need To Know

aging.jpgHave you ever thought about why your muscles atrophy or waste away when you get a cast on your arm? Well, I hadn’t really thought about why until I read an article in the newspaper quoting Dr. Henry S. Lodge author of Younger Next Year. Dr. Lodge points out that when you don’t move something on your body whether it’s your arm or leg or whatever, the muscles let out a steady trickle of chemicals that tell the cells to decay, day after day after day. Then I got to thinking,
