Overpopulation: It’s Not Only About Fossil Fuels

cows.jpgI was not too sure what to do with this article. Whether I should post it or just forget about it, but if I am going to help change the world, I cannot be selective in what I expose. As we all know I am against the exorbitant numbers of legal and illegal immigrants coming into this country (1,000,000 legal and 1,000,000 illegal a year). Not because I don’t like ethnic people, but because for every one person we let into this country, that is more natural resources that need to be imported or extracted to support them. Here is one I did not think of, and one that is really important.

[Warning, the below information is not for the faint of heart. It is vitally important that everyone understand the consequences to our actions, especially our reproductive actions. If you can stomach it, please read on]

Has anyone thought of what it takes to feed all of us? Back in the day, people were self-sufficient, and they took care of themselves, but now we need to be taken care of. We are basically invalids. We want our food, and we want it readily available. Since Americans love their meat, that just adds another natural resource to the table, literally. Any animal product that is used for food today is so rapidly produced to keep up with demand that the meat producers cannot operate within certain standards of care for treating animals. Here is a video that shows what is happening behind the velvet curtain, so that you are feed to your heart’s content.

We need to stop having so many kids, and stop letting so many legal and illegal immigrants into this country. If we continue doing so, these animals will continue to be used and abused exponentially more for our selfish pleasure. If you are still saying that it is no big deal, you either did not watch the video, or you should be thrown in jail for being a psychopath. Just as we should stop toting around one or two kids in a 9 passenger SUV, we need to stop our selfish behavior that is contributing to so many wrongs to innocent living things.

I’m at work so I didn’t get to watch the vid but I figured I’d throw one out there for anyone who likes some punk rock with their politics, or in this case some pretty disturbing slaughterhouse footage.

Yeah there’s too many people out there, I’m not sure how fixing immigration helps world overpopulation, other than that any population in the US is doing more environmental harm than those outside the US, in general.

There is always the “A modest proposal” option, which could also be the soylent green option I suppose.

I was not saying immigration hurts global population, I was just writing about how immigration is hurting America’s food industry. The more people that move here the more people to feed. Global population is plain and simple, births over deaths.

Soylent green… what movie was that from?

Hey, another thing: Who needs migrant labor to harvest the crops? Each farmer puts up a sign: ‘Pick Your Own Fruit.’ Well, they do it with xmas trees, don’t they? And strawberries.

The name of the movie was soylent green.

You’ve read “a modest proposal” before right?

Its satire, he’s not actually recommending what he’s recommending in this proposal, but its funny.

I think there was a slight misunderstanding, We agree that there are too many people in the world, overpopulation, there are also too many in this country mostly due to immigration. I think this is something of a one way street, you could solve some (not all) of our immigration problems if you could solve overpopulation, but fixing immigration cannot solve overpopulation. I think thats a pretty self explanatory statement.

I only meant to say that if America’s food industry is coming under pressure due to immigration then the world food industry must be near the breaking point(or is broke in some areas) due to overpopulation.

Are you and Gore ready for this observation? Is it possible that we as people are responsible for global warming? I mean literally. We do shat and we do give off methane gas. Like cows. Maybe not as much, but… As overpopulation keeps getting over, is it posslbe that’s why ice is melting way up North? Hey, what was the world’s population 100 years ago. See what I mean?

Will someone please shoot this idea down before it reaches the Bushes. I hate me, too, right now.

Until people stop listening to the insanity of most religions, and the outdated, ancient customs that accompany them, we will never, ever stop overpopulation. Most religions don’t allow women power over their own bodies and lives; their dogma considers birth control & abortion to be one-way tickets to hell. Planet earth is only going to get more crowded and used-up, and I wouldn’t hold my breath for things to change any time soon.

Here, here Vera. Where did you come from? Great comment. I would have to concur with the fact that we are still hanging on to our backwater beliefs and customs. Until we can regain our mental liberty, we will not be able to move forward.

    Standing ovation for Vera.
It would have taken me three pages to say what you summed up in a few words. Excellent, Thanks!

All living things overpopulate. The result of overpopulation is harsh conditions(starvation, disease, poverty, conflict, genocide, and war).
The the people of the industrial countries voluntarily regulate their population properly. Most of them have zero or negative population growth.
In the 3rd world religions are very powerful and they believe they can maintain power if they keep the people poor, uneducated and overpopulated.
The religious right has caused the U.S. to oppose family planning and birth control by the U.N.. Let’s hope the next U.S. election will change that policy. If so there will probably be a dramatic drop in population growth in the 3rd world.

Hey Daniel, thanks for the intellectual comment. You are exactly right. The righteous people that want to tear down people’s reproductive freedoms just don’t understand how it helps sustain the delicate balance of population control. And don’t get me started on that damn teaching abstinence crap either. It doesn’t flat out work. Anyways, thanks for stopping by, we all hope to hear from you again. Take care.
