Top Ten Reasons Why Republicans Suck!
This is my list of reasons why Republicans just plain suck. I have a deep seated disgust with what is happening to America and, in particular, who is blocking Congress and this nation from moving forward. Who am I referring to? You guessed it — the ‘Neo-con’ men, or so called Republican Party. This is just my way of releasing the blow-off valve, so watch out for the burns!
10. The covering of Lady Justice by Asscroft… yes, I said Asscroft!
No longer will US Attorney General John Ashcroft appear in public with a semi-nude statue towering above him.
The US Justice Department has spent $8,000 on curtains to hide the statue from the cameras. - BBC News.com
9. Global Warming… ha… shut up and enjoy the warmer weather!
“As Gore promotes global-warming movie, College Republicans ridicule the movie with Global Warming Beach Parties…”
Republicans run a “Global Cooling” Snow Cone Stand.
The Oklahoma University College Republicans gave out free snow cones to students for an event they called “Global Cooling Day.” - Wall Street Journal
8. No Accountability
Secret prisons, fake intelligence of non-existent WMDs, overseas kidnapping charges against secret CIA agents, torturing of innocent people, shooting people in the face… um… (it’s top secret, so I can’t talk about it).
7. UN? Oh, United Nations? Who are they to tell us what to do!
The Institute for Policy Studies published a report analyzing what it called the “arm-twisting offensive” by the United States government to get nations to support it. Although President Bush described nations supporting him as the “coalition of the willing”, the report concluded that it was more accurately described as a “coalition of the coerced.” According to the report, most nations supporting Bush “were recruited through coercion, bullying, and bribery.” - Wikipedia.com
6. Abolishment of Human Rights — Torture? We don’t torture, its just debriefing!
The practice [waterboarding*] garnered renewed attention and notoriety in September 2006, when reports charged that the Bush administration had authorized its use in the interrogations of U.S. War on Terrorism detainees. Though the Bush administration has never formally acknowledged its use, Vice President Dick Cheney told an interviewer that he did not believe “a dunk in water” to be a form of torture but rather a “very important tool” for use in interrogations… - Wikipedia.com
*Waterboarding: a torture technique that consists of immobilizing an individual and pouring water over his face to simulate drowning, which produces a severe gag reflex, making the subject believe his death is imminent while ideally not causing permanent physical damage.- Wikipedia.com
5. Commercialism and materialism
The U.S. debt is soaring, our trade deficit is mounting, we are at war for “cooked up” reasons, soldiers are dying, the whole world hates the US, and what does the Bush Administration recommend? Go shopping, it’s therapeutic. Here is the actual transcript from one of his speeches: “As we work with Congress in the coming year to chart a new course in Iraq and strengthen our military to meet the challenges of the 21st century, we must also work together to achieve important goals for the American people here at home. This work begins with keeping our economy growing. … And I encourage you all to go shopping more. - thinkprogress.com”
4. Dick Cheney, the man, the mystery, the devil.
Multiple DWI arrests, the good old Halliburton relationship (2005, Cheney’s reported gross income: $8.82 million), hand in helping “cook” the Niger and Iraq uranium lie, starting the Iraq War, CIA leaks and the Scooter Libby Trial, shooting people in the face and getting away with no consequences and, daughter, I don’t have a daughter — gay people are evil!
And when asked about the criticism of him and the administration in how to move forward in the Iraq war…”I’m the Vice President and they’re not.”
3. The whole world hates us!
Nearly two-thirds of respondents to an international poll for the BBC say they have an unfavorable opinion of George W. Bush.
[When] Asked who is the more dangerous to world peace and stability, the United States was rated higher than al-Qaeda by respondents in both Jordan (71%) and Indonesia (66%).
America was also rated more dangerous than two countries considered as “rogue states” by Washington.
It [America] was rated more dangerous than Iran, by people in Jordan, Indonesia, Russia, South Korea and Brazil, and more dangerous than Syria by respondents in all the countries, except for Australia, Israel and the United States.
2. The Iraq War
Iraq war time line: Investigate Iraq over misinformation concerning WMDs, no WMDs found, 11 out of 19 UN countries are arguing against US waging war on Iraq, US coerces 4 countries to support the war calling it the “Coalition of the Willing”, War started on Iraq, Saddam taken out, Mission Accomplished on aircraft carrier, Iraq insurgency expands, US occupation government installed, increasing instability and renewed fighting, Al-Askari shrine bombing and Sunni-Shia fighting, outbreak of civil war, permanent Iraqi Government takes power, increased sectarian violence, Iraq Study Group report finished then ignored and Saddam’s shoddy, shameful execution and now 5 years later and an estimated 654,965 total casualties, we have what? A less stable Middle East!
1. Our wasted economy!
“As of September 29, 2006, over $379 Billion dollars has been allocated by the U.S. Congress for the Iraq war. Over $360 Billion* has been spent as of January 22, 2007. - Wikipedia.com” The forecast for the total spending for this war may top out at as high as $2 Trillion dollars before it’s all said and done.
With the Neo-cons’ focus on the military industrial complex and big corporate interests, there is an ever expanding wedge between the rich and the poor. While Republicans promote huge military budgets and big corporate interests, oil profits soar, CEO salaries surge, corporate conglomerates proliferate, and all the while there is a war being waged on the middle class. The results are that locally owned businesses are faltering, average wages are declining, health benefits are disappearing, pension plans are being stolen, the environment is being raped…and the list goes on.
*If you want to see the real-time rising cost of this war, go to this webpage and you can see the dollars ticking away, second by nauseating second.

Republicans are ‘good people’ and mean well for you.
My father was like that and mean’t well for me.
In the second grade, I begged my parents for a pair of Engineering boots.
I got them! The night before I was going to school wearing my new boots, my father fixed them. He was from Poland and knew how to take care of new leather. He melted bacon fat and rubbed the grease into the boots to make the leather last. IMAGINE MY HORROR when I had to wear those new smelly boots to school every day. Adolph, my father, a life-long Democrat, did it for my good, for my ‘own good.’
REPUBLICANS ARE LIKE THAT. Everything they do in Congress is for your ‘own good; They are gooding us to death, for our own ‘good!’”
Well, if I am understanding what you are saying, you mean that Republicans just have a weird way of doing the public good? If that is what you are saying, then I would have to disagree with you. I strongly believe the Republicans are trying to do what is best for them, not anyone else, and this is quite easily proven.
If you were just being sarcastic, then I agree… kind of. But, anyways, thanks for the comment. Keep up the good work of sharing your always unique perspective. You help give this site life! Thanks Stan.
The old school republicans, the real conservatives (not the neo type), I disagree with but can at least understand their reasoning and sometimes even agree with them. Usually only in the fiscal realm where balancing the budget is seen as so important. Unfortunately those conservatives are being pushed out by the neo-cons which I have nothing but contempt for. Actually I think this T-shirt does a great job summing up many peoples views on the neo-cons, its funny either way.

Alternative Tentacles is the label created by Jello Biafra, former front man for The Dead Kennedys. There’s lots of good stuff their if you want to do some shopping or just to waste a few minutes. I’ve bought stuff there before I would recommend it, and its always nice to go straight to the source.
That’s funny, because when I was a kid, I remember my parents being republican. I remember how they were for less government, less taxes and more civil liberties. The democrats were the bleeding liberals wanting to always put more and more money into causes and raise taxes to do so. It boils down to repubs were about less big brother, and dems were more big brother.
What happened to that. The sad thing is I don’t think people understand that the republican party is no longer. They continue to vote repub, not realizing that they are being loyal to something that is not reciprocating that loyalty. They are making a mockery out of the repub party. It’s a total blasphemy, if you will.

I was being sarcastic. I put for our good in quotes to indicate so. The Republicans have to appear to be giving you something, the more worthless the better for them.
Got you, I was pretty sure you were kidding, but I am still getting used to your comedic delivery. Thanks for the explanation. Take care buddy!
10. They try to legislate their morality
9. They do not understand or believe in separation of church and state
8. They try to push their cultish religious beliefs on everyone
7. Every tax policy and law they pass favors the wealthy
6. They have offered 5 amendments to our constitution showing their ignorance of constitutional history
5.Faith based initiative-a scary farce rife with fraud
4.The never-ending spew of propaganda from their goons O’Reilly, Hannity, Coulter and their propaganda channel-bought and paid for by and for the wealthy-Fox
3. They do not learn from history “Vietnam”, Korea” “monopolies” and on and on.
2. They don’t know or don’t care:
“We must police big business, they will not police themselves.”
1.Their leader who I remember back years ago when papa was prez got an illegal small business loan to drill a wildcat oil well and went bust. Guess who paid for that? He was the best we could do? Pathetic. My grandson will have to pay for their fiscal irresponsibility. Reagan tripled the national debt. This fool will do worse.
Donna, that was awesome! Nice top ten! Thanks for the great addition to this article. I hope this won’t be the last we see of you.
The only president to surpass balancing the budget was Clinton. Republicans as a whole have never fallowed their bs tag line. Republics are evil hate filled people. I have never gotten an answer for the question why are you republican that didn’t involve some hate filled response. All bush supporters should pick up a book.
What global-warming-in-denial, “siimple math” addict is going to listen to this rhetorical nonsense? What we really needs is some form of mirror that serves as a universal translator to see how someone from an opposing point of view sees what we write and how we think.
Top reasons why Republicans suck:
Every time one of them runs the nation there is scandal (the type where people lose their lives), the economy tanks, consumers get more ripped off, crime increases, education decreases, and more freedoms are lost.
Bushwacked… love the name! Thanks for your input and we all feel your pain. I hope we can make it to ‘08, and if we get there, I hope there is a positive outcome. If we don’t, I am leaving this country.
May Republicans burn in hell for all eternity, and may the stench from their rotted, fly-infested carcasses consume their pretentious, arrogant descendants.
Anyone that is registered to vote Republican should be immediately arrested and tried as criminals for advocating warmongering and genocide.
I loath the Republican ideology and faux idealogues, I loath George Bush and his bastard incompetence, I loath Cheney and his machiavellian doctrine of deception and self-grandisement.
If there is a God, heaven, and justice, may George Bush be tried in an international tribunal, sentenced, and convicted to rot like the bastard pig he is on the island of Elba, and in exile be forced to read perpetually the name of every individual killed in the pursuit of his illegal policies.
Amen.
wow
Wow!
Always gotta one up me don’t you?
Maybe?!
Just for the heck of it, I typed “Republican’s Suck” into the search engine and your website came up. I shouldn’t have been surprised that something came up as Republicans really and truly do suck the Big One. They are such lying hypocrites! To think they persecuted a great president like Clinton for getting sucked while all the time they themselves just suck, suck, and suck some more!
Hey Barry thanks for the comments.
I agree with your assessment of Republicans. They are in a league of their own.
It’s funny but the biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats just basically disagree with the Republicans but the Republicans want to wipe the Democrats off the face of the map. Sad but true. This is why they are so ruthless and basically can justify lying because they feel God is on their side. It’s sickening.
We hope to see you again on our site. Thanks again for the comments.
The Republicans always claim to fight for the betterment of mankind yet they stick to false principles, oppose abortion, defile the education system, lie to the general public (Thanks alot FOX), exploit the economy, insist that young adults who are barely old enough to drink alcohol to die for a tyrannical president and above all, label themselves as a just and moral political party by slapping on the bible before the foundation of the country they are fighting for in the first place. To make things simple, republicans bleed irony, breathe lies, and crap hypocracy. I always wondered HOW they managed to contradict themselves so many times within nearly a good 8 ensufferable years of political bondage. Watch the news, there is enough proof that mankind is declining rapidly.
I really did enjoy the top ten, but I think that there are a few points that are just missing from the discussion. I, personally, would LOVE to know what efforts have been made to privatize Social Security, how about anti-gay-rights legislation? Stem Cell Research have any damning changes recently? If I remember the debates correctly, these were ALL major talking points, ones that Bush/Cheney used to sway the bible beaters and fundamentalists. Mind you, there have been House/Senate bills on these issues, but they all have taken a backstage to the (somewhat played down in the ‘04 debates) War of terror…errr…I mean War ON terror, thats right…sure.
Well, hopefully we will finally begin our recovery in January of 2009, otherwise anyone for a road trip to Canada, eh?
Hey, maybe if America pulls its collective head out of its ass, and starts tackling the REAL problems that AMERICANS are having, then when I am 65 (assuming I live that long…I hear the draft bells ringing) I might even be able to retire, on a habitable Earth, one without war, where poverty is gone, and America has healthy, happy, and prosperous people…dare to dream.
Seriously, what are conservatives “conserving”?
Conservatives aren’t “conserving”…
Instead, by Gawk, they are “preserving”… //if you could put a notion in a jar of formaldehyde, then that’s the “what!”//
-30-
I go to a republican private school, and yes I agree they suck, but you got a few points wrong. They blame the UN on the “baby killing homosexual loving” liberals. Also, they believe that the war on Iraq is the “baby killing homosexual loving” liberals’ fault. Also, they say that global warming MIGHT be true, but they dont recycle because it wont happen for another 100 years and who gives a fuck about our children’s children…Oh and McCain is probably gonna win…don’t whine, he will just allow you to update this list…
-Joe Heger
Still Good Job
Republican hater
I will register as independent when i become of age.
Why is commercialism on this list? Is that a bad thing? Go read some Mises or maybe some Henry Hazlitt.
Of course I detest Republicans.Duh. They are all the above and more.I have a deeper concern. In the last two elections(stolen or not) a mighty huge pot of voters pressed the republican buttons, some of which were voting against their self interest. This is troubling.
A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.
